There is the famous Mt Shasta. It was created by a combination of explosive activity and lava flows. It has lots of peaks such as the Gray Butte, the Misery Cone, Sargents Ridge Cone, and the Shastina. Mt. Shasta was a stratovolcano, but somehow turned into a mountain. There are also some other famous ones like the Black Butte, Clear Lake, Glass Mountain, Amboy Crater, and Lassen Peak.

Mid-Ocean Ridge
What are Mid-Ocean Ridges?
Mid-Ocean ridges are like long chains of mountains underwater. It is also the longest mountain range in the whole water, of course underwater. It is more 56,000 kilometers (35,000) miles long. This series of mountains and valleys marks where the Earth's crustal plates are moving apart.
Plate Tectonics
The Theory of Plate Tectonics is a theory of the coninental plates drifting apart, colliding together, and grinding past each other little by little separtating the continents which once was a super continent called Pangea. The plates colliding creates volcanoes or mountain ranges. The plates sometimes even create earthquakes. When the earth's plates move apart, magma comes up and cooling down quickly forming earth's new crust. The convection currents are driving the plates together and apart from each other.
Convergent and Divergent Boundaries
What is a Convergent Boundary?
Well, a convergent boundary is when two plate would collide. This process would take millions of years, and plates would only move one centimeter a year. A convergent boundary would make volcanoes or mountains.
What is a Divergent Boundary?
Unlike the convergent boundary, divergent boundaries is when two plates move apart. When the lithospheric plate moves apart, and a new layer of the earth's crust moves up. A divergent boundary would form many volcanoes, with a lot of magma.

The Pangea
Pangea was one super continent that was on the earth 200,000,000 years ago. The word Pangea means 'all land' in Greek. The pieces that made up this super continent split up and drifted slowly apart, and became the seven continents today.
Scientists say that they knew there was Pangea because there were the same matching fossils that were found in Africa and South America. Also, all the continents would fit almost perfectly together like a jig-saw puzzle.
